Partners Against Hate has provided Technical Assistance at
the Anti-Defamation League's Human Relations Conference in
San Diego on December 17, 2001 at the University of
California, San Diego. This conference brought together more
than 700 middle and high school students and their advisors
to learn about ways to fight hate and encourage more positive
intergroup relations and communication in schools. Partners
Against Hate provided an interactive session designed to
assist youth in learning how to use technology to empower
themselves and work for positive change in their communities.
The session featured special emphasis on the use of
technology to advance human rights work and to combat
youth-motivated hate.
Partners Against Hate
is also providing Technical Assistance to Student Alliance
for Equality (SAFE), a student-centered effort designed to
help and assist students in the San Diego area in their
efforts to combat bias and prejudice. Partners Against Hate
has also offered recommendations and enhancements to the SAFE
Web site, www.safeadl.org, and is working with
student leadership to implement these changes. In addition,
Partners Against Hate engaged in a strategic planning process
with the students to help them develop more refined goals and
objectives for the SAFE efforts.
